Top NJPW star KENTA has taken a shot at CM Punk and WWE for not being allowed to use the G2S (GTS) while wrestling in the US.
While CM Punk established the GTS as his finisher during his WWE tenure, Japanese star KENTA is largely credited as the originator of the move.
Despite this, the former ‘Hideo Itami’ rarely hit his GTS during his time with WWE, from 2014 to 2019.
KENTA recently reacted to Bobby Fish’s comments on Punk, agreeing with the former AEW star.
The former IWGP US Champion has now taken to Twitter to call his time with WWE one of his worst experiences in wrestling, because he wasn’t allowed to use his signature maneuver.
Throwing shade at CM Punk, Kenta wrote:
Let the world know.
One of my worst experience in this business is that I was not allowed to use MY finishing move for 4 years.
A move which I created on my own.WHAT A LIFE.
CM Punk has used the GTS as his main finisher since joining AEW, utilising the move to win the AEW World Championship twice, most recently at All Out on September 4.
Following Punk’s verbal tirade during the post-show media scrum and the backstage fight that followed, Punk was stripped of the title on the September 7 edition of Dynamite, with the belief being that he has been suspended, along with some other notable AEW stars.
Punk recently underwent surgery, and is expected to be out of action for a number of months.
