A top AEW star has spoken out against negative voices surrounding the company’s historic upcoming All In event from Wembley Stadium on August 27.
Speaking in a recent interview with Nick Hausman, newly crowned TBS Champion Kris Statlander opened up on her excitement at competing in the UK for the first time.
However, she would take a moment to speak on the perception of the event since its announcement from AEW President Tony Khan, questioning how anyone, AEW fan or not could perceive the event in a negative light.
Statlander explained:
“I just don’t understand how people see any of this as a negative.
“Any sort of wrestling having a big show and doing well with it is just a win for the business on all accounts.
“I think sometimes people take things too seriously when it comes to defending certain things.
“Either way, what I’m just saying is I think it’s a very exciting thing and I just hope a lot of people are able to see the positive aspects of pulling something like this off.”
Despite early detractors suggesting AEW would struggle to fill Wembley, ticket sales have been extremely impressive thus far with over 65,000 sold.
The strong sales have even led to AEW announcing that more were to be made available, including those at floor and lower bowl level.
The overall capacity for All In was previously said to be near 74,000 however, that number may well increase the closer we get to August 27.
After almost a year-long injury hiatus Statlander returned at May 28’s Double or Nothing PPV, defeating previously 60-0 champion Jade Cargill for the TBS Championship.
Statlander recently named an ideal opponent for All In, to find out who follow this link here.
