There is major news regarding a top star in WWE and when their contract is set to expire.
While Drew McIntyre was in India for WWE’s Superstar Spectacle, he commented on his contract status with WWE by noting that he was mostly focused on the present in lieu of fixating on the future.
However, speculation continues to swirl around specifics as to how much longer Drew McIntyre will be present in WWE with more details now emerging.
PWInsider had previously reported that McIntyre’s contract with WWE was coming due in February 2024.
In an update from PWInsider Elite (via Wrestling Inc) Drew McIntyre is now contracted with WWE until “around WrestleMania 40”.
This extension is due to WWE adding some time onto McIntyre’s contract to make up for time he was away earlier this year.
That means there are still around seven months to finalize a new deal, although sources within WWE informed PWInsider Elite that there had not been much if any movement on signing McIntyre to a new contract.
The primary reason being that the company has focused most efforts on finalizing the deal by which WWE will be acquired by Endeavor and merged with UFC to create the new public company, TKO Holdings.
2024 is set to be an interesting time in professional wrestling with the number of reported top stars potentially entering free agency from both AEW and WWE.
