There has been a big update on future plans for Mercedes Mone and whether or not she is returning to WWE, NJPW or even AEW.
Despite WWE sources having previously teased a return from a ‘former Champion’ set for WWE Raw Day 1, one huge name has been ruled out.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, WWE sources have claimed that ‘talks fell apart’ between Mercedes Mone and the company regarding her return.
Not only are the two sides “no longer in active negotiations regarding a return” but a source within the company believes Mone is headed elsewhere, imminently.
While the source didn’t elect to state where, there are a few options as AEW Worlds End on pay-per-view is set for tomorrow, Saturday December 30, 2023.
Also, NJPW is set to host Wrestle Kingdom 18 on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the Tokyo Dome and IMPACT Wrestling is set for a rebrand to TNA Wrestling in Las Vegas at the Hard to Kill on January 13, 2024.
While there is no confirmation where Mercedes may pop up next, she is likely to continue to use her popular name, recently trademarking several new terms in relation to the moniker.
