Maria Kanellis cleared for return to the ring

Mike Kanellis’ days of sitting in the WWE locker room during RAW are about to come to an end. Well, maybe. His wife, Maria Kanellis announced on their podcast, Mike and Maria in Wonderland, that she has been cleared by her doctors to come back to the WWE.

Maria then shows off her healed wrist and says, “I will be back.”

Maria and Mike debuted at Money In The Bank 2017, but it was soon clear that the duo wasn’t a priority to WWE creative. Following a brief feud with Sami Zayn, Mike was quickly relegated to jobber status because the company was reportedly unhappy with the former ROH star’s physical appearance.

‘He just sat on his couch’

One source revealed the feeling within the company was, “Mike signed two months before he came in and it looks like he just sat on his couch. The company don’t get it. He’s one of the guys who said it’s his dream to be here and he doesn’t even get in shape for it.”

In September, Maria went on a leave of absence from WWE as she announced that she was pregnant.

The couple’s first daughter, Fredrica Moon, was born back in April. While training for her return, Maria injured her wrist but now the WWE superstar is ready to get back into action. The question is, which brand will she be on? Maria is still listed on the SmackDown Live roster, while her husband Mike is on the Raw roster.

When Maria revealed that she had suffered a broken wrist, her goal was to recover in time to wrestle at WWE’s first all-women’s pay-per-view event, WWE Evolution, on October 28. She may well be fit, but it remains to be seen whether he will be on the card.
