Mark Henry has explained why Jacob Fatu’s “pride” is his one problem heading into his potential WWE World Heavyweight Title Match with Roman Reigns.
While we’ll have to wait until the April 27 episode of WWE Raw to get a definitive answer as to whether Reigns will accept, on the Raw after WrestleMania 42 Jacob Fatu laid down the challenge to “The OTC” for a World Heavyweight Championship match at WWE Backlash on May 9 in Tampa, Florida.
Following a tense face-off with Reigns and The Usos on Raw, in which Reigns referred to Jacob as his “little cousin,” we saw “The Samoan Werewolf” cut an impassioned promo on last night’s SmackDown in Fort Worth, Texas, explaining to The Usos why he wants to go it alone and take everything Reigns has rather than join forces with him in The Bloodline.
Fatu’s pride was on display later in the night as well, as Jacob refused to accept help from both The Usos and Solo Sikoa and The MFTs, with Fatu instead wiping out Sikoa and his entire group single handedly on SmackDown.
Discussing Fatu’s actions on SmackDown on Busted Open After Dark, Mark Henry described the former United States Champion as potentially “the most dangerous person” that Reigns is gonna face inside a ring, but voiced his concerns about Fatu’s pride.
Henry said:
“We got to hear Jacob cut a promo about hope. About reestablishing himself and I was all for it.
“The one thing I have a problem with, and it was one of my problems early in my life: pride. Jacob has got to loosen up with the pride. Anybody listening to this, if you know Jacob personally, you’d tell him that everybody need help. And Jacob will not allow that yet, he’s too prideful. He seemed very aware and humble and happy, but he’s got that thing man, he’s just not happy until he gets it all. He wanna be the man.
“Jacob might be the most dangerous person that Roman is gonna face, because Roman has everything to lose and Jacob has everything to gain.”

Could We See Jacob Fatu Join Up With Roman Reigns After Backlash?
With Roman Reigns and The Usos now officially back together once again, many fans are celebrating the return of what could be The Bloodline of old, albeit with a more babyface leaning, and less ruthless “Tribal Chief.”
Reigns and The Usos are likely all that’s needed for this iteration of the group, but seeing Fatu fight alongside them would separate this era of The Bloodline from the one that ran roughshod over WWE for four years.
However, as Henry stated, Fatu seems too prideful to play Roman’s sidekick, and rightfully so, as Jacob is clearly a world champion level star in his own right, and above being placed in a background role.
