‘Very Very High-Ranking Official’ In WWE Reached Out To Seth Rollins After Good Morning Football Incident WWE

A ‘very high-ranking official’ in WWE reached out to Seth Rollins after he stormed off the Good Morning Football set yesterday.

Yesterday’s edition of Good Morning Football saw co-host Kyle Brandt take shots at Seth Rollins and the calibre of athletes in WWE in comparison to the NFL, with Brandt’s parting shot poking fun at Rollins’ WrestleMania 42 loss to GUNTHER.

Brandt said:

“Maybe we can get Becky (Lynch) to come and actually win something… that’s how it works for you guys. Am I wrong?”

Removing his earpiece, Rollins would tell the co-host that he could do the rest of the show without him, walking off set.

Today, Brandt and Rollins were reunited, once again on Good Morning Football, with it being revealed that the antagonism wasn’t what it seemed.

In footage also shared online, the pair have a staredown, before Rollins breaks the palpable tension, throwing his arms around Brandt and drawing him in for an embrace.

Brandt would say that he “loves this guy”, while the pair would be giddy with happiness, going on to say:

“I love Seth Rollins. I love him on this show. I love him in the ring. I love him as a person. I love him as a wrestler.”

The host would go on to reveal that he’s had a hectic twenty-four hours, with his phone blowing up with concerned texts, leading to Rollins stated he had been contacted by a higher-up in WWE, explaining:

“I had a very, very high-ranking official in my own company –  I won’t name names –  send me a voice note making sure that he didn’t have to get involved with Good Morning Football. I don’t know what the plan was, I don’t know what he was thinking.”

Brandt would ask if the official had “three of the same letters”, but Rollins wouldn’t be drawn on that, later revealing that it was all Brandt’s idea to stage the spat on television.

Rollins may have lost his match at WrestleMania 42, but Becky Lynch was able to recapture the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship on Night 1.

Not The First Time Seth Rollins Has Done This

When it comes to staging events, Seth Rollins has proven to be a pro.

Back at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in July 2025, Rollins beat LA Knight, but appeared to suffer an injury during the match, with it later being revealed to be a ruse, returning at SummerSlam Night One, cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase to beat CM Punk, who had just defeated GUNTHER, and becoming the World Heavyweight Champion.

Speaking about the whole fake injury angle, Rollins would reveal that Becky Lynch was an unwilling participant in the ruse, although their daughter, Roux, didn’t exactly play along.

With all indications that the injury was authentic, including Rollins being seen out and about in the sort of medical apparatus one would be expected to wear, reporting and fan concern at the time mirrored what might be expected from such an incident.

The fake injury being revealed and revelled in by Rollins that August at WWE SummerSlam, there was caution to the approach taken when Rollins suffered a legitimate injury at Crown Jewel in his match against Cody Rhodes, with the star subsequently being removed from The Vision.

Arguably, seen as a “boy who cried wolf ” situation, even when reports came out confirming that the injury was, indeed, legitimate, there was caution in the tone many took when discussing Rollins.

Once again, Rollins, albeit led by his Good Morning Football co-host, has managed to pull off a moment that made people sit up and watch. With Brandt noting that many got in touch with him, and Rollins referencing the unnamed WWE official, the interaction had the desired effect.
