WWE/NOAH
Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Naomichi Marufuji has thanked WWE’s Seth Rollins for crediting him with his Stomp finishing move.
Seth Rollins has been using the Stomp as his finishing move in WWE for over a decade, with it becoming one of the most popular finishing moves in the company.
Rollins has previously spoken about the origins of the move, and how he first used it against Tyson Kidd on a live event prior to his main roster call up in 2012.
Naomichi Marufuji Thanks Seth Rollins For Stomp Credit
The move was also made famous by Japanese wrestling legend Naomichi Marufuji, who Rollins had previously credited for stealing the move from in an interview.
Taking to social media, Marufuji responded to Rollins crediting him for the move, and pitching a potential match between the two in the future.
He said:
Thank You Seth 😎 Someday… we should have a match, right?
WWE has had a working relationship with Marufuji’s Pro Wrestling NOAH for a number of years, with NXT stars heading over to the promotion for the N1 Tournament, as well as Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles appearing for the promotion to face the Great Muta and Marufuji respectively.
Rollins was in action at WWE WrestleMania 42, where he lost to GUNTHER on night one after an interference from a returning Bron Breakker.
More WWE Stars To Wrestle In Japan?
Under the new WWE regime, the company has opened it’s borders to outside promotions in the past few years, including over WrestleMania 42 weekend, where numerous WWE names were in action at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport.
WWE sending talents such as Tavion Heights and Josh Briggs over to Pro Wrestling NOAH has helped their development, as it allows them to work more matches outside of the company, facing different opponents and working in front of different crowds.
There are current WWE stars that are not being used often on television that could benefit from a trip over to Japan, allowing them to get reps in the promotion.
Omos recently made appearances in Pro Wrestling NOAH last year, where he captured the GHC Tag Team Championship before he made his return to WWE, where he now competes on the AAA show as a member of El Ojo alongside Hijo del Vikingo and Dorian Roldan.
