On tonight’s AEW Rampage, Max Caster and The Acclaimed joined a segment so in his words, they could save the ratings for it!
On tonight’s special live edition of AEW Rampage (in advance of the special Battle of the Belts IV directly after) didn’t see any matches scheduled for The Acclaimed but that didn’t stop them from popping up!
After the Varsity Blonds lost a match to Tony Nese and Josh Woods, legendary lawyer Smart Mark Sterling announced that he had trademarked the word ‘Varsity’ for use in professional wrestling.
Therefore, Woods and Nese would now be known as the ‘Varsity Athletes’ and stopped to pose in the ring before being interrupted by The Acclaimed and a scathing rap from Max Caster.
In the amusing rap, Caster referenced the popularity of the Acclaimed by saying they were out there to “make the show more watchable” as well as save the ratings.
A nod to the fact that their segment on AEW Dynamite was the only one Wednesday that didn’t lose viewers.
Also in the rap, a line about Draymond Green as Caster threatened, “Next time you interrupt our team, I’m going to rock you in the face like Draymond Green!”
