Former TNA World Champion Mike Santana has shared a new post following reports about his TNA Wrestling departure and WWE interest.

Following Mike Santana losing the TNA World Championship to Nic Nemeth in the main event of Slammiversary on June 28, PWInsider reported that – per TNA Wrestling sources – Santana had finished up with the company.

This report also stated that WWE’s interest in signing Santana dated “back to last year”, following his previous appearances for the company as part of TNA and WWE’s ongoing talent crossover.

With there being a lot of speculation about what’s next for Santana, the former world champion has now taken to Twitter with a cryptic update for fans.

Highlighting next Wednesday as a significant date, Santana posted:

It remains to be seen what Mike Santana has planned for July 15, however it has been speculated that this could be a hint at the date he officially becomes a free agent.

This date is actually already somewhat significant in pro-wrestling history, with WWE Champion John Cena selecting Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson) as his SummerSlam opponent on the July 15, 2013 Raw episode.

This set off a chain reaction which resulted in Bryan becoming one of WWE’s biggest stars, with Bryan defeating John Cena to win the WWE Title clean, Triple H forcing an immediate title change after Randy Orton cashed in Money in the Bank, the Yes Movement propelling Bryan to the main event of WrestleMania 30, where he defeated Batista and Orton to finally win back the gold.

A number of wrestlers also share a birthday on July 15, including AEW’s Anna Jay, former WWE star Heath Slater, and WWE legends The Boogeyman (Martin Wright) and Jesse Ventura.

Unless Santana is planning a joint birthday party, it seems likely that Santana will provide a substantial update on his next move on July 15.

The date has fuelled a lot of speculation about his next home. As there are no live episodes of WWE TV airing next Wednesday, some have speculated that Santana could be teasing an appearance on Wednesday Night Dynamite, with the July 15 episode set to emanate from the MGM Music Hall in Boston, MA.

We will continue to provide updates on Mike Santana’s status as they become available.
