AEW World Champion MJF has passed a significant milestone in relation to his ongoing reign with the company’s top prize.
Having held the Triple B since Full Gear on November 19, 2022, MJF has now passed the 300 day mark as reigning champion.
This places Max second only to Kenny Omega in the all-time list of AEW Champions, with The Cleaner currently holding the record at 347 days.
After overcoming Adam Cole in front of a record-breaking crowd at All In London from Wembley Stadium, MJF’s next title defence will be against ROH TV Champiuon Samoa Joe at Dynamite Grand Slam from New York’s Arthur Ashe Stadium on September 20.
Joe defeated Roderick Strong in the final of the tournament to decide MJF’s challenger.
Following the match, Joe made things extra personal between he and the world champion by choking out MJF’s best friend and ROH Tag Team Championship co-holder Adam Cole.
MJF made headlines for recreating a legendary fan favorite promo in a pre-taped interview segment on Dynamite – to view the hilarious moment for yourself click here.
As of today, MJF has now officially held the AEW World Championship for 300 days. The 2nd longest reign in company history.
If he holds the title for 47 more days (until November 1, 2023), he will break Kenny Omega's record for the longest reign. pic.twitter.com/T0e6VnkwGy
