The nature of the injury that Andrade El Idolo is currently dealing with has been revealed.
On July 15, AEW President Tony Khan confirmed that Andrade has been ‘hurt’ since his match with Rey Fenix on the June 24 edition of Rampage.
Since then, it was revealed that Andrade will team with Ric Flair for his last match against Jey Lethal & Jeff Jarrett on July 31.
Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Andrade has been dealing with ankle inflammation:
“Andrade has ankle inflammation but this may be his only chance to team with Flair in a match so he’s not going to miss it.
“Andrade’s injury that he’s been battling of late was inflammation in his ankles although he’ll be back in a few weeks.”
Ric Flair is also dealing with a minor injury ahead of July 31, with the WWE Hall of Famer confirming that he has plantar fasciitis, inflammation of a part of his foot.
A number of top AEW names are currently on the shelf with injuries, including AEW World Champion CM Punk.
