New TNA Wrestling Signing Confirmed

After making her debut in the promotion this Summer, an independent wrestler has announced that she’s now officially signed to TNA Wrestling.

The July 9 episode of TNA Impact on AMC, saw Gabby Forza make her debut on TNA’s flagship show, as she wrestled Jody Threat in the first round of a tournament to determine the inaugural TNA Knockouts Television Champion.

While she failed to advance to the following round, Forza impressed enough in that match – as well as a one-on-one bout with Indi Hartwell on TNA Xplosion – to earn a contract with the promotion, as she announced in a new interview with Denise Salcedo that she is now officially a member of the TNA Knockouts division.

Forza said:

“I have very exciting news. I’m officially signed with TNA, which means I signed my first ever TV contract after three and a half years on the independent wrestling scene and trying to take over the world and I would say successfully doing so.

“Now I’m a TNA Knockout and I’m so over the moon. It’s my first time saying it out loud. I’m so excited to share that with everyone.”

Forza would then open up about her TNA debut experience, revealing that she had no idea she was going to be debuting in the TNA Knockout Television Title tournament until she saw her name included in the bracket on social media.

Forza said:

“I got to debut in the TNA Knockouts TV Title tournament, which is so so crazy and I was not expecting that. I just knew I was going to wrestle in Albany for the first time with TNA and that belt didn’t exist yet when that was planned.

“I was like ‘Ok, I’m so excited, whoever I get to wrestle, the roster is stacked. I will be prepared for whoever I get to face.’ And it turned out to be Jody Threat. I found out about the title and the tournament with everyone else at Slammiversary.

“So, it came out and I was like ‘Oh my God that’s insane.’ And then I heard rumblings about a tournament and Gabby Forza might be in it, and then the whole bracket posted online and I was like ‘Oh my God, that’s my name on a TNA Knockout TV Title tournament.’ It was beautiful and the presentation and everything. It was so surreal and I was so excited to be a part of it and take advantage of the opportunity.”

Forza would then heap praise on TNA for nailing the presentation of her character ‘The Gnomie,’ which she found all the more impressive given that she wasn’t signed to the company at the time.

Forza continued:

“I was like ‘This is a lot of people’s first impression of me, I want everyone to kind of get a vibe of ‘I’m a tough girl, a badass, but also The Gnomie.’ And the best part to me was the entrance. Oh my God, my entrance is like the coolest ever. I’m so obsessed with the way they presented The Gnomie and how much effort they put into showcasing me. That felt so special, and I was not signed when I debuted. I was just showing up and doing my thing that I always do on the indies.

“To see what The Gnomie is like on TV felt like – I was blown away at my own presentation. I did not expect how to love how I look on TV honestly. I was so scared. I was so excited and I’ve never been more nervous in my life but I was like ‘I’ve done this, I know what I’m doing and I’m excited to wrestle someone like Jody Threat who will definitely bring it out of me,’ and we really played off each other well in that match, and really got to show that we’re both really tough and not to be messed with. I got to wrestle Indi Hartwell, another big tough girl. She’s done everything you could think of in wrestling. 

“I always feel like whenever I get to wrestle someone that’s tougher than me, that’s stronger than me, smarter than me, I get to take a piece of them with me for the rest of my career.

“So to have that debut, I’m like this is such a good start even if I didn’t get signed I was like I have this going for me for the rest of my wrestling career, and it turned out to end up getting me a job in professional wrestling.”
