Montana was one of many targets Waller took aim at during his scathing promo which opened Tuesday’s episode.

Downplaying Montana’s TNA World Championship reigns, Waller stated that being a top guy in TNA nowadays is like “being the best basketball player at the local YMCA”

The duo met face to face later in the show, with Waller attacking Montana and NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo.

Speaking on Busted Open, Cruz Montana addressed Waller’s actions. Responding to Waller’s comments about TNA, the former Mike Santana said:

“I’m always someone who will give props where they’re due. I was in his shoes before, I was pissed off at the world. I had opportunities taken from me. I had a ceiling put on me, I get it.

“So I’ve got to give him props for speaking his mind, but you don’t know me. You don’t know what I’ve been through. You don’t know what I’ve gone through to get here.

“That little shot that he took about being TNA World Champion, Bully (Ray), you’re a former TNA World Champion. You know the history and the weight that title holds. Name after name after name after name.

“For me to be among those names, to have had the opportunity to carry the brand that is TNA… TNA means a lot to me, TNA was the first place that gave me an opportunity to grow on a main platform. I’ll do anything for that place.

“I’ve travelled around the world. I’ve been to the top of the mountain, I’ve been bottom of the mountain. I took a chance on myself, I let go of a really, really nice paycheck. I went back to the indies, I went back to TNA, I rebuilt my career.

“After the first match that I had back after knee surgery was in front of 80,000 in Wembley Stadium. And guess what? I let that go. Come at me different.”
