Rusev Update After WWE Raw Concerns

There’s an update regarding the status of Rusev after some concerns that emerged coming out of last night’s episode of WWE Raw.

Rusev suffered a loss to Je’Von Evans on WWE Raw last night, though it was what happened after the match that caused a lot of talk on social media.

A post was doing the rounds on social media claiming that Rusev wasn’t happy about losing with the supposed evidence being a video of him hastily leaving ringside to head backstage.

This was nothing more than someone trying to create an issue out of nothing, though there is something of a story to why Rusev left like he did.

During the match, he suffered some kind of injury issue after taking Evans’ ‘Red Dot’ kick.

Upon landing after taking the kick, Rusev’s hand appeared to momentarily freeze as he waved Evans off and rolled out of the ring before appearing to say, “My hand went numb.”

At that point, Evans stayed in the ring and the referee went out to check on Rusev. You can see the clip below.

Rusev did finish the match and it didn’t seem like it was a particularly shortened ending caused by the hand problem.

Nonetheless, the issue might have been the reason Rusev wanted to quickly head backstage so that he could get it checked out by medical staff as quickly as possible.

Rusev Has Found His Place In Current WWE

After Rusev returned to WWE last year, it seemed that – other than a feud against Sheamus – he was struggling to find his place on the roster.

Someone like Rusev should be dominant but he evidently isn’t someone that WWE intends to push to the very top level, and with that comes a problem.

Logically, if Rusev is dominant all of the time, he would have to be moved up the card, but the company doesn’t want to do that – on the other hand, if he isn’t dominant, he just becomes a body on the roster and loses all of his appeal.

Fortunately, the arrival of Ethan Page to the WWE main roster and his pairing with Rusev over the past few months has breathed new life into the Bulgarian and greatly freshened things up, which has been a win all around.
