8 WWE Stars To Become NXT Coaches

WWE has created a natural role for many stars on its roster following their in-ring careers with the Performance Center.

There have been several talents from the past that have made the transition to an NXT coaching role, such as Fit Finlay, Terry Taylor and Jazz.

With these legendary names having opened the door for others to follow, fans might see a few stars on the current WWE roster who become NXT coaches in the future.

Here are eight WWE stars to potentially become NXT coaches.

8. Nattie

Nattie has established herself as one of the most lauded and celebrated wrestling trainers in the business today.

Opening up The Dungeon alongside her husband TJ Wilson, Nattie has helped several talents on the WWE roster, in Japan and around the world to hone their in-ring skills.

While she is busy with her work in The Dungeon, the Hart family member might want to help out in the WWE Performance Center as well after her in-ring career.

Nattie transitioning to NXT coach would be fitting and continue her relationship with WWE long after she decides to hang up her boots.

7. Pete Dunne

Pete Dunne is currently working underneath a mask as the Rayo Americano character.

However, Dunne has also contributed by working as a producer for the Lucha Libre AAA promotion in Mexico.

It feels like a producing role would be ideal for ‘The Bruiserweight’ following his in-ring retirement, but WWE might be better suited to have an experienced talent like Dunne as a coach.

Working with the young stars in WWE NXT, Dunne could offer a different perspective and give these upstarts a more modern perspective of pro wrestling.

6. Kevin Owens

Ahead of WWE WrestleMania 41 in 2025, Kevin Owens announced that he would be out of action with a serious neck injury.

After being absent from WWE TV for over a year, Owens has been recovering from neck surgery and revealed he has been ‘feeling the itch.’

‘The Prizefighter’ has always been a consistent contender in the world title picture for years, but it feels like Owens has more years behind him than ahead.

When he finally decides to hang up the shorts, KO is someone who has been getting valuable experience on WWE LFG working with younger talent that would make a smooth transition to an NXT coaching role.

5. Bayley

The future of Bayley in WWE has been a hot topic in the pro wrestling world over the past few weeks.

With her contract set to expire later this year, it will be interesting to see when or if Bayley will make a comeback to WWE TV anytime soon.

The former WWE Women’s Champion has accomplished everything she can in the company, but there could only be so much time left to see her inside a WWE ring.

Bayley retiring somewhere down the line might lead to her taking her experiences from Lodestone in recent years to become an NXT coach where she can instill her knowledge to younger stars on the roster.

4. Finn Balor

At the age of 45, Finn Balor is still one of the very best that WWE has to offer today.

Balor came into WWE in 2014 after spending his formative years in the wrestling business in New Japan Pro Wrestling and the European independent scene.

Before signing with WWE, Balor also had years where he trained some young talent from Ireland and the UK indies, including Lyra Valkyria, Becky Lynch and JD McDonagh.

When he is all said and done, Balor might want to get back to his passion of training in the WWE Performance Center as the newest NXT coach.

3. Seth Rollins

Someone who also has plenty of experience training talent outside of WWE is Seth Rollins.

At the Black and Brave Academy, Rollins has helped to guide different young wrestlers in the industry and give them the tools to succeed.

Since signing with WWE in 2010, Rollins has become a flagbearer for the company and someone who has been regularly recognized as one of the best in the business.

Upon retiring from in-ring competition, it feels like Rollins will want to give his knowledge and experience to the upstarts on the WWE NXT roster as a coach.

2. Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes has been down at the WWE Performance Center from the beginning stages when his father Dusty Rhodes was the head trainer.

With that legacy, Rhodes has kept closed tabs on the WWE PC and has formed closed bonds with stars on the NXT roster.

‘The American Nightmare’ has also garnered necessary experience as a trainer after opening his Nightmare Factory training school with AEW star QT Marshall.

Rhodes becoming an NXT coach would be a full circle and emotional moment where he can try to fill the shoes of what his father was able to do in a similar role before his passing.

1. CM Punk

There has probably been no one on the active WWE roster who has been more involved with the NXT talent in recent years than CM Punk.

Ever since his return to the company in 2023, Punk has been excited to work with the talent in NXT and help them by becoming a mentor for these younger stars.

Whether it be Bron Breakker, Roxanne Perez or Trick Williams, Punk has left a wonderful impression on the up-and-coming talents by giving them his unique perspective on the business.

With a brand new crop of talent coming up in WWE NXT, Punk could be an ideal choice to become a coach and strengthen his influence on the Performance Center moving forward.
