NJPW World Sharing Matches Featuring Top AEW Stars For Free NJPW

NJPW World is currently allowing fans to watch select NJPW matches featuring AEW stars for free, ahead of Forbidden Door.

AEW and NJPW will host a crossover show on June 26 at the United Center in Chicago.

A number of top AEW names have wrestled for NJPW in the past, including company EVPs Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson, who were all huge stars in Japan before founding their US-based promotion.

The NJPW World streaming service has shared a playlist of free matches featuring the likes of Chris Jericho, Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole, Kenny Omega and Hangman Page.

Notably on the playlist is the Chris Jericho vs Hiroshi Tanahashi match from Wrestle Kingdom 14 in 2020. In the build to the match, Tanahashi coined the term ‘Forbidden Door’, suggesting that if he was to defeat Jericho, he’d challenge for his AEW World Championship on AEW TV.

The current list of free matches include:

  • Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Chris Jericho – Wrestle Kingdom 14 (2020)
  • Chris Jericho vs Tetsuya Naito: IWGP Intercontinental Title – Wrestle Kingdom 13 (2019)
  • Chris Jericho vs EVIL: IWGP Intercontinental Title – Power Struggle 2018
  • Kenny Omega vs Kota Ibushi – G1 Climax 28 (2018)
  • Kenny Omega vs Hangman Page – Wrestling Dontaku 2018
  • Kyle O’Reilly vs Adam Cole: ROH World Championship – Wrestle Kingdom 11 (2017)
  • Will Ospreay vs Adam Cole: ROH World Championship – Destruction In Hiroshima (2016)
  • American Dragon (Bryan Danielson) & Curry Man (Christopher Daniels) vs Ryusuke Taguchi & Hirooki Goto – Hyper Battle 2004

You can access the playlist right here.

Tickets for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door are now sold out, with pre-sale tickets shifting in just 40 minutes. Tony Khan has since reacted to the sell-out.
