NXT’s Wes Lee Shares Moving Message For R-Truth

NXT North American Champion Wes Lee has shared a heartwarming message for R-Truth after the duo shared the ring during the October 25 edition of NXT.

R-Truth made a surprise appearance on the show while Wes Lee was addressing Grayson Waller in the ring. Unexpectedly, R-Truth’s music hit and he roused the crowd in a sing-along to his infectious ‘What’s Up?’ theme.

Wes Lee posted to his Twitter after appearing in a segment with 30-time 24/7 champion. Reflecting on the moment, Lee wrote:

“Watching wrestling growing up, there weren’t too many PoC I could look up to. But when a super charismatic and athletic K-Kwik with box braids showed up on my screen, hittin the jump splits and corkscrew hook kickin fools, I immediately became a fan.

“To have shared the ring with someone I’ve grown up emulating over the years and utilizing as inspiration, is wild to me…”

It came to light that R-Truth thought it was Halloween Havoc. Wes Lee explained that Halloween Havoc had, in fact, been and gone on Saturday, October 22.

Lee pointed to his newly acquired title to prove it, to which R-Truth broke out in celebration.

Lee won the North American Championship during an action-packed ladder match that also featured Von Wagner, Carmelo Hayes, Oro Mensah, and Nathan Frazer.
