A new report has revealed the opening and closing segments for tonight’s July 21 episode of WWE SmackDown.
Many of the matches and segment for tonight’s SmackDown have already been announced and promoted for the show.
Per PWInsider, the opening segment will see this week’s United States Championship Invitational match as Sheamus, Cameron Grimes, Rey Mysterio and LA Knight will battle in a four-way bout.
The winner of this contest will face Santos Escobar on next Friday’s July 28 broadcast to determine the number one contender for Austin Theory’s United States Championship.
In a later report, PWInsider reports that the current plan is for the Roman Reigns and Jey Uso “Rules of Engagement” to close tonight’s edition of SmackDown from Orlando, Florida.
This segment should lead to the rumored match between Reigns and Uso for the SummerSlam 2023 event on August 5.
As previously reported, an injured popular WWE star is backstage at tonight’s SmackDown.
