Last night on Friday Night Smackdown, Becky Lynch was selected as the first pick in the 2019 WWE Draft. Somewhat surprisingly, “The Man” will now compete solely on Monday Night Raw.
Following on from this, many people expected Charlotte Flair on stay on Smackdown as the brand’s top female star. However, she could also be on her way to Raw.
As a result of her dropping the Smackdown Women’s Championship last night to Bayley, Dave Meltzer has speculated that Charlotte might be following Lynch to Raw.
“Charlotte Flair because of the way she lost I thought she might be going to Raw. Paul Heyman’s like a huge Charlotte Flair fan so that makes sense, but it’s like she’s been doing nothing but promotion on FOX for so long and then they start and they move her is, you know, but if she was staying she could have lost, but would she have lost that way?”
This comes after it was reported that FOX was rather keen to keep Charlotte Flair on Smackdown along with Roman Reigns.
The move makes sense, as Lynch and Flair seemingly started a feud with WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka and Kairi Sane this week on Raw. The feud could play out on Raw moving forward.
Another move that Meltzer has speculated could happen is Baron Corbin to Friday Night Smackdown following his win over Shorty Gable last night:
“Vince does like to beat people that he’s gonna move to the other show and I thought when this was over that it felt like Baron Corbin might go to SmackDown”
