Real Reason For Roman Reigns Vs Logan Paul Title Match At Crown Jewel

Real Reason For Roman Reigns Vs Logan Paul Title Match At Crown Jewel WWE

The real reason why Logan Paul is set to challenge for Roman Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Crown Jewel has been revealed.

During Saturday’s (September 17) press conference, it was confirmed that Logan Paul will compete for WWE’s top prize when WWE returns to Saudi Arabia on November 5.

Per Dave Meltzer on Sunday Night’s Main Event, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed Bin Salman wants celebrity attraction fights to take place in Saudi Arabia, and Logan Paul is considered a big name.

Meltzer said:

“He’s a big deal in Saudi Arabia, he’s a big deal to the Saudi Arabian prince and that’s the whole thing of these shows.

“Nothing to do with (selling tickets). Tickets in Saudi Arabia mean nothing. It’s not even part of the game. Of course, TV numbers whatever. If he draws younger viewers, that’s good but it’s not a play for TV ratings.

“It is a play because the prince wants celebrity fights in Saudi Arabia to build the name in the media of Saudi Arabia and Logan Paul will get more of the type of press that Saudi Arabia is looking for than Kevin Owens or Seth Rollins.

“That’s what Saudi Arabia is there for. Saudi Arabia is for matches that the prince wants that will get press attention around the world for Saudi Arabia so this is a great match for that.”

Previous reports noted that WWE is dealing with a complex situation with Roman Reigns’ booking, as the company doesn’t want Reigns to lose a match on the road to WrestleMania 39 in April.

WrestlingNews.co reports that as of writing, there are still no plans to have Reigns drop his gold this year.
