Ring of Honor has gone on a signing spree of late, re-signing many of their stars to new contracts. Now, the promotion has announced that Brian Johnson is the latest to sign a new deal.
Johnson is one of the newer stars to receive a new contract from the promotion, wrestling out of the ROH Dojo. Here is the official statement provided by the company on their website:
“Ring of Honor is pleased to announce that Brian Johnson has re-signed with the company.
Johnson, who calls himself “The Mecca,” was a member of the first class of the new ROH Dojo in 2018. He competed in the 2019 Top Prospect Tournament, but was eliminated in the first round.
Johnson made his Final Battle debut last month, but he lost to Danhausen by disqualification on ROH’s biggest show of the year.”
As stated in their official statement, Johnson competed at the 2020 edition of Final Battle. He was beaten by Danhausen by disqualification in a match where if Danhausen won he would be given an ROH contract. It was Johnson’s first appearance at a Final Battle event.
Johnson now joins Bateman, Amy Rose, Bandido and Mark Haskins as the recently re-signed Ring of Honor stars.
