MJF regained his AEW World Championship in the main event of tonight’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view, and will not shave his head.

Back at AEW Worlds End, MJF begun his second reign as AEW World Champion, winning the championship in a four-way against Samoa Joe, ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and Swerve Strickland.

MJF would hold the championship until AEW Dynasty, where he defended the title in the main event against Kenny Omega, before defending the title against Darby Allin three days later on Dynamite in Darby’s hometown of Seattle.

Darby would pick up a quick victory over MJF in the main event of the show, defeating him in 2 minutes and 15 second to win the AEW World Championship for the first time in his career.

Darby would continue to defend the title weekly on Dynamite as MJF attempted to get a rematch, but Darby promised to only give him a shot if he put something on the line himself, that being his hair.

MJF Regains AEW World Championship, Keeps Hair

The rematch between Darby Allin and MJF main evented tonight’s AEW Double or Nothing show, but things got heated between the two and Mick Foley on the Buy In pre-show ahead of the show even going on air.

MJF would get into a war of words with Foley, which ended with him hitting him with a low blow before Darby came out to make the save, with Foley then giving Darby a pep talk ahead of the match.

It would not end up being enough, as MJF ended up beating Darby in the main event to begin his third reign with the AEW World Championship.

MJF Is AEW World Champion & Is Not Bald… And That’s A Good Thing

If MJF would have lost against Darby Allin tonight, not only would be not have won the title, but he would have had to have his head shaved bald.

Instead, he’s now a three-time AEW World Champion and his hair is well and truly intact.

The somewhat unfortunate truth about a hair stipulation like this is it comes with an element of comedy to it, which MJF recently attributed to Vince McMahon’s time in charge of WWE creative.

However, the ‘bald’ comedy isn’t WWE exclusive and has been used extensively in AEW recently with Ricochet and Chris Jericho as well.

MJF not going bald means that potential element of comedy in the fans’ reaction to him has been taken away, and he can now go on to be a serious World Champion, which is the best thing for AEW right now.

It’s also a good message to send to fans that whenever there’s a stipulation like this, it isn’t guaranteed that an outcome like someone having their head shaved is going to happen – and a title change like this should be more than enough of a ‘happening’ to prevent any complaints about that.

The AEW World Championship is prestigious enough to carry that weight.
