ROH Announce International Cup Details!

Ring of Honor returns to the UK this August on its Honor ReUnited tour, featuring, for the first time, its inaugural International Cup. The format of the tournament is an eight man, single elimination tournament with the winner going on to challenge for the Ring of Honor World Championship.

The tournament will be held over two days, with the title match on the third. The first day hosts the four First Round matches at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange. Day two will see the Semi-Finals and the Final against the backdrop of the popular Doncaster Dome. The final day sees the International Cup winner face down the ROH World Champion, currently Jay Lethal (although he has his own match against Adam Brooks in Edinburgh). Day three is set in the historic York Hall in London.

The theme of the tournament is UK vs USA with more tourneys teased on the ROH website. Team USA comprises of Flip Gordon, Adam Page, Christopher Daniels, and Jonathan Gresham. Team UK consists of Joe Hendry, Jimmy Havoc, Mark Haskins and the debuting Kip Sabian.

With the whole tournament being available live exclusivly on the network and then eventually on Honor Club, the success of the event will give ROH the confidence to extend the format to other continents. Japan, Germany and Mexico have already been teased.

The opening round matches are Kip Sabian vs Flip Gordon, Joe Hendry vs Adam Page, Jimmy Havoc vs Christopher Daniels and Mark Haskins vs Jonathan Gresham.

ROH International Cup Brackets

With previous tours bringing stars like Will Ospreay, Marty Scurll and Mark Haskins into the Ring of Honor fold, will this tournament spring board another new star into the ROH title picture?
