World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns has sent a final warning to Jacob Fatu ahead of their match at WWE Backlash.

Reigns is set to make the first defence of his World Heavyweight Championship tonight, with him defending the title against his cousin Jacob Fatu.

Reigns won the championship from CM Punk back at WrestleMania 42, marking his first reign with the World Heavyweight Championship in his career.

Roman Reigns Sends Warning To Jacob Fatu

Over the past few weeks, Jacob and Roman have brought their family history into the story, with Jacob saying that he wants to provide for his own family.

Taking to social media ahead of tonight’s show, Roman sent a final warning to Jacob ahead of the match.

He said:

Jacob, We’ll Always Be Family, But After Tonight You’ll Understand Why They Chose Me.

You’ll Understand Why I’m One of One.

How Will Roman Reigns Vs. Jacob Fatu Play Out?

With Roman’s first defence of the World Heavyweight Championship taking place tonight, there has been some speculation on how exactly the match could play out.

Despite Roman recently being removed from advertising for WWE Raw shows in June, there is no difference in his status with the company, even though some took him being removed from the shows as a hint that he could drop the World Heavyweight Championship to Jacob Fatu at Backlash tonight.

While Jacob will almost certainly be a future World Champion in WWE, it seems incredibly unlikely that WWE will take the title off Reigns in his first defence.

However, there are a number of ways that WWE could make sure to keep Fatu strong in defeat, as he warned the Usos not to get involved in the match on last night’s episode of WWE SmackDown.

Reigns and CM Punk’s match at WrestleMania 42 was a clean affair with no outside interference, which made for a nice change of pace from the typical Bloodline formula of Roman Reigns title matches over the past 6 years, so hopefully the interference is reduced to a minimum this time around also, if it even occurs at all.
