There was a title change on last night’s (August 22) episode of WWE NXT, when Noam Dar secured the victory over Nathan Frazer to begin his third reign as NXT Heritage Cup Champion.

Later in the night, Dar was informed by the ‘Heritage Cup Committee’ that a new tournament, named the NXT Global Heritage Invitational, would start on next week’s show.

The winner of the tournament will face Noam Dar for the NXT Heritage Cup at NXT No Mercy on September 30.

On the show, no information on the tournament was revealed, but we now know the official rules for the tournament, from WWE’s The Bump.

The rules for the tournament are as followed:

Two groups featuring four superstars each will compete in a round robin style tournament

Matches will have a 12-minute time limit

Pinfall or submission victories will earn 2 points, while a draw will earn 1 point

The winners of the two groups will face off on the September 26 episode of NXT, with the winner facing Dar for the Cup at No Mercy

None of the competitors in the tournament have been currently announced.
