Samoa Joe has been awarded a new ROH World Television Championship belt.
On the April 13, 2022 episode of AEW Dynamite, Samoa Joe defeated Minoru Suzuki to win the Ring of Honor World Television Championship.
For the past 434 days, Joe has beaten the likes of Jay Lethal, Christopher Daniels, Matt Sydal and Mark Briscoe. He is now the third longest reigning champion in the title’s history.
To start the June 22 edition of ROH TV on Honor Club, footage of Tony Khan alongside with his ROH Board of Directors, Stokely Hathaway and Jerry Lynn, awarding Samoa Joe with a brand new ROH World TV Title belt from last Saturday’s AEW Collision premiere.
The belt is more in line with the current upgraded designs that debuted for the ROH World Championship and Women’s World Championship earlier this year.
After being gifted the new belt, Joe told Tony Khan that he would break “his boy’s face” later in the night. This referenced CM Punk who Joe was opposite of in the six man tag team main event on Collision.
Punk and FTR defeated Samoa Joe, Jay White and Juice Robinson on the June 17 edition of AEW Collision. Both Punk and Joe will be competing in the Owen Hart Men’s Tournament.
