Real Reason WWE Faction Trained With The Rock Before WrestleMania 40 Revealed WWE

The real reason why a certain few WWE stars were chosen to help The Rock train for his match at WrestleMania 40 has been revealed.

The Rock is slated to wrestle in the main event of Saturday’s WrestleMania 40 Night One show, teaming with Roman Reigns to battle Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.

This match will be The Rock’s first full bout since WrestleMania 29 in 2023, not including his six-second match at WrestleMania 32 in 2016.

Ahead of this weekend’s show, reports revealed that NXT stars Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey and Wolfgang of Gallus have been helping The Rock to train for his in-ring return.

Speaking with SEScoops, WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels noted that Gallus were chosen to work with The Rock because they’re professional and dependable names.

Shawn Michaels explained:

“These are three guys who know what they’re doing, understand every aspect of it, sometimes you need a guy who’s younger who can fly around, but sometimes you need guys who are mature, and professional, who can adjust to everything to what Rock wants.

“Obviously, I’m partial to those guys, they’re fantastic guys, they’re professional and very dependable.

If The Rock and Roman Reigns win Saturday’s main event, Reigns’ WWE Undisputed Universal Championship match against Cody Rhodes slated for WrestleMania 40 Night Two will be contested under “Bloodline Rules”. If Rhodes and Rollins win, the Bloodline will be banned from ringside during Sunday’s title match.

The Rock recently opened up about his intense training ahead of WrestleMania 40, which you can read more about right here.
