Top Star Re-Signs With NJPW? NJPW

A top star and former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi has re-signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling.

To start 2024, NJPW is a state of change and turnover with top stars Kazuchika Okada and Will Ospreay departing the promotion as well as other stars set to either re-sign or leave.

On January 29, Tokyo Sports reported that Hiromu Takahashi had re-signed with NJPW after signing a contract at the New Japan offices on Monday.

Tokyo Sports’ Yusuke Okamoto attempted to get a word with Takahashi following his signing, but Hiromu only confirmed the report. Okamoto’s translation of the post reads:

[Breaking news] Hiromu Takahashi, whose contract was renewed today, quickly left the office without responding to any interviews from the waiting press (I was the only one). That’s all from the scene… Ah! wait a minute! This is LINE from Hiromu-chan! “I signed a contract ” It’s a contract! Hiromu Takahashi is under contract! That’s all from the scene!

El Desperado defeated Hiromu Takahashi to win the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18 on January 4.

Takahashi is set to face DOUKI in a singles match at NJPW New Beginning in Sapporo on February 24.
