Top WWE Star Confirms Iconic Former Faction Inspired Current Group WWE

The Judgment Day that we see on WWE television every week today are a much different unit than the original trio that formed last Spring.

Edge, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley made up the original version of the Judgment Day, which was a lot more dark and mysterious than the group currently is.

The original version of the group drew a lot of comparisons to the Brood, another iconic trio that Edge was a part of during the Attitude Era.

Edge was asked about the comparisons during his appearance on WWE After The Bell, where he admitted that the Brood was the template for the Judgment Day.

He said:

“That was absolutely the template. When I was first approached with the idea of starting a group, the initial pitch was, ‘Want a new Brood? Who would that be?’ And I said, ‘Well, [Damian] Priest and [Rhea] Ripley.’

“To me, that just visually, but also from a talent perspective, that makes sense, and those three that’s a visual that I can go okay, now I start picturing the entrances and let’s get a spotlight and I got a song it’s called The Other Side, and it’ll fit the story.

“So start putting all those pieces together, and the addition of Dom to this thing, just a stroke of genius, honestly. And I think from it; Dom has been able to grow into such just a major part of making this thing work.”

Edge has been at war with his former group since June of last year, when he was kicked out of the group and replaced with Finn Balor.

Edge and Balor are set to meet face to face on tomorrow night’s episode of Raw ahead of their rumoured clash at WrestleMania.
