Update On Planned 2022 WWE Draft Date WWE

An update has emerged on the planned date for the next WWE Draft, following reports that the rosters will be shaken up later this year.

Ringside News previously reported that a draft is internally listed for September.

Commenting on this report in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that a WWE source told him that it could take place in August, following SummerSlam.

Noting that WWE hadn’t decided on a specific date as of writing, Meltzer wrote:

“Ringside News reported that the WWE draft was tentatively scheduled for September. A WWE source told us that it could be August, right after SummerSlam, or could be September. No date was finalized but the gut feeling was after SummerSlam or in the lead up to the Cardiff show, but it’s definitely right now set for that time frame.”

SummerSlam is slated to air on July 30 from the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. ‘WWE Clash at the Castle‘ will emanate from the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales on September 3.

Drew McIntyre recently shared his thoughts on the brand split, believing that WWE should have two World Titles if continuing on with two separate brand rosters.

McIntyre will team with RK-Bro to face off against The Usos and WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania Backlash this Sunday.
