Final Confirmed For AEW World Title #1 Contender Tournament AEW

On tonight’s episode of AEW Collision, two semi-finals matches to determine who would advance a step closer to a title shot at MJF.

With MJF set to face the winner of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament, the semi-finals occurred on tonight’s AEW Collision.

Roderick Strong took on Darby Allin, although there was an assist from Christian Cage and Luchasaurus who attacked Allin backstage before the semi-final match began.

With Darby seemingly injured after having been tossed around by the TNT Champion like a ragdoll backstage, he still came out to the ring to put up a brave fight.

With Nick Wayne at ringside, there was a moment during the match where perhaps AR Fox had intended to assist Darby and Wayne but it backfired, leading to Fox actually hitting a moonsault on Nick Wayne.

In the end, it was Roderick Strong who picked up the victory in the match to advance to the finals on the next episode of AEW Dynamite (September 13).

In the show’s main event, Samoa Joe took on Penta El Zero Miedo and it was Joe who picked up the win as well to advance.

The finals of the tournament are set for Dynamite, featuring Roderick Strong set to take on Samoa Joe to find out who gets a shot at MJF at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam.
