WWE 2K22 was named as a big contributor to Take Two Interactive’s success for the first quarter of its fiscal year of 2023.
On Monday (August 8), Take Two Interactive issued a release, reporting results from the first fiscal quarter of 2023.
Take Two named WWE 2K22 as one of its largest contributors to the company’s 41% increase in net bookings, with other titles including NBA® 2K22, Grand Theft Auto Online, Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption® 2 also named.
Take Two’s net bookings for first fiscal quarter of 2023 had increased to $1.0 billion. For comparison, the company made $711.4 million in net bookings during the previous year’s first fiscal quarter.
WWE 2K22 was released on March 8, 2022, ahead of WrestleMania 38 in April. It was the first game in the series since WWE 2K20, with WWE 2K21 skipped to give the developers more time to improve the series.
2K released ‘The Whole Dam Pack’ DLC pack on July 19, the fifth wave of DLC since the game’s launch.
