During the May 9 Backlash Premium Live Event, WWE and AAA announced that Triplemanía will take place on Friday, September 11, and Sunday, September 13.
WWE has now shared an official statement with more info on the two-night event, naming some of the stars set to be in action.
The statement noted that the event will showcase the best talent of the Mexican brand, naming WWE stars Dominik Mysterio, Rey Mysterio, and Rey Fenix, in addition to AAA names Hijo del Vikingo, Psycho Clown, and La Catalina.
WWE shared the following announcement on its website:
May 11, 2026 – As announced this past Saturday at WWE Backlash, Mexican lucha libre promotion AAA will hold its largest annual event, Triplemanía, across two-nights for the first-time ever this September.
Triplemanía 34 will take place on Friday, September 11 at a location to be announced, followed by Arena CDMX in Mexico City on Sunday, September 13. Fans interested in receiving exclusive pre-sale and on sale opportunities can register now by visiting: https://www.wwe.com/Triplemania34.
Additional news on the location of the Friday, September 11, event will be released in the coming weeks. Tickets for Triplemanía in Mexico City will go on sale Tuesday, May 19.
Triplemanía 33 in August 2025 at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City drew a record attendance crowd of 19,691 and became the most-viewed and highest-grossing Triplemanía in event history.
This year’s event will showcase the best talent of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide including Dominik Mysterio, Rey Mysterio, Hijo del Vikingo, Psycho Clown, La Catalina, Rey Fenix and many more.
Dominik Mysterio is the current AAA Mega Champion, having won the gold at the September 12, 2025 Worlds Collide show from El Hijo del Vikingo.
While Rey Mysterio has made a number of non-wrestling appearances for the brand, he has only wrestled for AAA once since WWE acquired the promotion, teaming with Rey Fenix against Dominik and El Grande Americano at Guerra De Titanes on December 20, 2025.
With the likes of Dominik Mysterio, Rey Mysterio, Rey Fenix and Dragon Lee frequently appearing for AAA since WWE’s acquisition, we could soon see more WWE names wrestle in the Mexican promotion soon.
