She may have had a bloody match of her own at WWE Night of Champions, but that wasn’t what got Becky Lynch emotional.
Lynch faced Trish Stratus in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, May 27 2023, losing to the legendary WWE Hall of Famer.
With the show opening with Seth Rollins becoming the inaugural WWE World Heavyweight Champion, you might expect Lynch to get emotional over that history-making moment.
Of course, she may have done, but it’s footage shared on social media of the main event that shows Lynch in tears.
In a clip shared on Twitter that can be seen below from a WWE behind-the-scenes video, Lynch is seen in tears over her Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens defeating The Bloodline (Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa) and retaining the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship.
During the match, Jimmy Uso would turn on Roman Reigns leading to the champions scoring the win.
The victory was one thing, but Sami Zayn was also able to wrestle in front of a Saudi Arabia crowd for the first time in around five years.
After the match, Owens left Zayn in the ring to soak up the ovation from the fans at the Jeddah Super Dome.
Zayn had not been on any WWE show in Saudi Arabia since 2014 before Night of Champions due to the between Saudi Arabia and Syria.
His Saudi Arabia PLE WWE debut was made possible as both nations resumed diplomatic missions.
