Top WWE Star Teases Dominik Mysterio Match At AAA Worlds Collide

With AAA Worlds Collide taking place in Chicago, a top WWE star has teased potentially challenging Dominik Mysterio.

AAA Worlds Collide was recently announced for September 26 in Chicago, the same day and region as AEW All Out, which led to Tony Khan sharing his thoughts on the “predatory nature of scheduling of events“.

During a recent appearance at San Diego Comic Con, attention was turned to the upcoming show after Danhausen attempting to trade $300 of ‘human dollars’ for CM Punk’s Undisputed WWE Championship.

With the footage shared by Brock Lesnar Guy on Instagram, Rey Mysterio would note that Dominik also has a title, specifically the AAA Mega Championship, with Danhausen having a suggestion for the WWE Hall of Famer, saying:

“You know, you should drown that boy.”

Punk would interject, possibly to deflect from further planning at the demise of Dominik, noting:

“They’ve got a show coming up in Chicago, don’t they? Does Dominik need an opponent? That’s fantasy booking.”

Danhausen would suggest he could pay Punk off, with the Undisputed WWE Champion noting he was being offered “2002 indie pay” as his fellow WWE star waved a bunch of notes.

Dominik Mysterio is set to face Danhausen at WWE SummerSlam on August 1 & 2, with the winner of the match getting to keep the $100,000 that was ‘stolen’ from Judgment Day.

CM Punk is no stranger to the Judgment Day member, either, having previously been described as “nothing special” by Mysterio.

Another Debut For Danhausen

Making his first appearance at Elimination Chamber in February of this year, Danhausen has been used sparingly when it comes to in-ring action, but frequently appears in backstage segments, including the aforementioned interaction with Judgment Day that leads to his match against Dominik Mysterio at SummerSlam.

So far, Danhausen has remained undefeated in the handful of matches that he’s had on SmackDown, along with victories at Backlash (teaming with Minihausen to defeat Kit Wilson & The Miz), and Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18, defeating JD McDonagh.

This isn’t to say that Danhausen has been absent from the ring, with the WWE European Summer Tour seeing multiple outings against The Miz (all victories) and the more recent WWE Summer Tour having the same outcome, with two victories over Wilson and one over The Miz.

There’s an argument to be made that the value of Danhausen on television is to build up the stage for a payoff at a PLE or on television, as opposed to having him flit from one feud to another. Indeed, his current feud with Judgment Day, which has seen him curse Dominik Mysterio (leading to the loss of the Intercontinental Championship), Liv Morgan (leading to the loss of the Women’s World Championship) and JD McDonagh (after the stolen cash situation), keeps that thread going, albeit it with three stars in the same faction.

Tying the star with others has paid dividends, with Matt Cardona, The Miz and Kit Wilson all playing their part in entertaining form, too.

For now, it seems that WWE are happy to use Danhausen more outside of the ring than in it, making each match a “must-see” entertaining affair.
