WWE Star Wants To Win Tag Team Championship With Hall Of Famer Teammate: ‘We Could Do So Well As A Team’

Dragon Lee has named his goals for the rest of his WWE career, including holding tag-team gold with his Hall of Famer factionmate.

Having been part of the WWE main roster since March 2024, Dragon Lee’s success on Raw has mainly came in the tag division.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Dragon Lee stated that he wants to win a tag-team championship with Rey Mysterio at some point in his career.

Also naming goals involving Royal Rumble, WrestleMania and the Intercontinental Championship, he said:

“I would like to be Intercontinental champion; that’s my goal. I want to be champion. Something that I would love to do is be tag team champion with Rey Mysterio.

“I hope we can have an opportunity, because I feel like I have a great connection with Rey, and I think we could do so well as a team. That’s what I think, and you know, another chance at the Royal Rumble and at WrestleMania, that’s the dream.

“Now I know how that feels, and nobody can tell me how it feels. I feel so great, and I want to have that experience again. It’s great, man.”

Dragon Lee has held WWE tag-team gold before, notably having a 70 day World Tag Team Championship reign with AJ Styles from October 20, 2025 to December 29, 2025.

With this duo just referred to as “AJ Styles & Dragon Lee” on TV, Lee recently revealed that he pitched the tag-team name “The Phenomenal Dragons”, before learning of Styles’ plans to retire in January.

WWE has been fairly inconsistent with Dragon Lee’s presentation over the years. While he is generally considered an ally of Rey Mysterio through the LWO, the duo don’t team up for two-on-two matches as regularly as some other teams.

While the last tag-team match the duo competed in saw them defeat Ethan Page and Rusev on the June 1 Raw episode, their last two-on-two match before this took place all the way back in March, with Lee and Mysterio scoring a win over American Made.

A WWE World Tag Team Championship win would be great for Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio, and would help to establish Lee as one of the faces of lucha libre on WWE’s main roster, following the likes of Penta having more success in the singles division.
