SmackDown star Blake Monroe has revealed which WWE star waited backstage to watch her first main roster dark match.
It has now been almost four months since Blake Monroe was announced as one of the many NXT call-ups to the main roster after WrestleMania 42.
In that time ‘The Glamour’ has not wrestled on television, with Monroe instead spending her initial few months on the main roster appearing exclusively in vignettes – teasing her arrival and outlining which stars she intended to target upon her debut.
Once she did begin appearing on TV, Monroe would then act upon her threats by attacking several members of the women’s locker room.
While this is all WWE fans watching SmackDown on TV have seen, Monroe has actually already made her SmackDown in-ring debut, albeit in a dark match against Jordynne Grace on the May 15 episode in Columbia, South Carolina.
During an appearance on the latest episode of The Nikki & Brie Show, Monroe revealed Brie Bella stayed backstage to watch her first SmackDown dark match, with the WWE Hall of Famer praising her performance and giving her a hug.
Monroe recalled:
“So I got to the back and the first person waiting for me was Brie, and she had a match. I think her and Paige – who we don’t talk about anymore. They had a match, so I didn’t expect anybody to watch.
“I feel like wrestling has changed now. When I was learning, you stay, you watch everything. I kind of want to but it’s just changed and I get it, things evolve.
“She was standing there waiting for me and I text my boyfriend, I was like ‘Brie was waiting for me backstage, she gave me a hug and she said it was good.’”

Blake Monroe’s Long Awaited SmackDown Debut Match Confirmed
After four months of anticipation and build up, WWE has now confirmed who Blake Monroe will be stepping into the ring with for her first televised main roster matchup.
In a social media exclusive segment from the August 14 episode of SmackDown, GM Nick Aldis told Monroe that she will finally be stepping into the ring after weeks of attacking other talent backstage.
Despite the English star’s pitch for said debut match to be a WWE Women’s Title bout against Chelsea Green, Aldis introduced Monroe’s actual first SmackDown opponent Giulia – someone who knows Blake very well from their time in STARDOM together, and, more recently, Giulia was the first WWE star targeted by ‘The Glamour’ when she debuted on SmackDown on the June 26 episode.
A date for their match has not yet been made official, however, you can view Monroe and Giulia’s exchange in Nick Aldis’ office down below.
