After a backstage altercation with CM Punk made its way online, a WWE star has slammed the NXT roster following a recent house show.

The August 15 WWE NXT Live event in Petersburg, Virginia saw CM Punk make a rare appearance, teaming with NXT Tag Team Champions Tavion Heights and Myles Borne against Jackson Drake, Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes of the Vanity Project.

One star who wasn’t impressed with CM Punk was Grayson Waller, who made his thoughts clear in a video of their backstage altercation that was shared on Twitter.

In the video, Waller takes issue with CM Punk rocking up to “his house”, seemingly without asking first, saying:

“Can I give you some advice? The next time you want to come to my house, call me and ask permission.”

With CM Punk asking if the NXT star was “serious”, Waller would reiterate his point, before indicating that he could be heading to SmackDown to challenge Punk on his own turf.

Waller would then chastise his fellow NXT roster stars for being “fans”, before storming off, having stated he was not a fan of Punk.

On his own Twitter account, Waller would double-down on his opinion of his fellow NXT stars, tweeting:

“My name is Grayson, not Mark

“The perfect visual representation of the difference between me and the rest of the NXT locker room”

The post was accompanied by two images, one showing Waller squaring up to Punk, while the other showed members of the NXT roster in the ring, surrounding CM Punk as they all smiled and posed for the camera.

The video would initially be shared on WWE social media, being pulled down shortly thereafter for reasons as yet unknown.

CM Punk has recently found himself the target of the returning Kevin Owens, with the pair heading to SmackDown in Toronto and the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line.

An Interesting Tactic From WWE

Posting a video to social media, waiting until a small sample of the audience has seen it and then deleting it may seem like an odd move, but it’s certainly an interesting one.

For some fans, those notifications are turned on and the second a video drops, they’re watching it, particularly when it involves a star the likes of CM Punk.

Seeing the video appear then disappear no doubt raises eyebrows, with question asked as to why that would be the case. Some fans will likely have, as has been seen in this case, grabbed the video from the feed and posted it online, with it remaining visible subject to an official takedown request.

Why take it down, though? Sometimes, a video can be taken down due to it not fitting a particular social media policy, or because something in it was inadvertently overlooked. In this case, it’s entirely possible that WWE are just blurring the line between story and reality, removing the video to build up the potential drama between two stars, knowing that it’ll be shared by third parties and subsequently finding coverage on news sites such as this very one.

In the meantime, all fans can do is wait to see how serious Grayson Waller is when it comes to CM Punk, particularly after the Undisputed WWE Champion commented on the star roasting the men’s NXT roster.
