The real reason that next week’s WWE Raw show is set to take place at an earlier start time has been revealed.

It was announced on last night’s WWE Raw show that next week’s show, which takes place in Ottawa, will start two hours early at 6pm EST instead of the standard 8pm EST.

The show is set to feature a number of big matches, including Stephanie Vaquer’s return to in-ring competition for the first time since WrestleMania 42, when she takes on Roxanne Perez.

WWE Set To Tape Upcoming Raw & SmackDown Shows

In an update on the taping from the Wrestling Observer (subscription required), WWE is set to tape a number of shows over the next few weeks in preparation for a hectic September.

The reason for the early start time for next week’s WWE Raw show in Ottawa is due to the company taping the August 28 episode of SmackDown immediately following the broadcast.

The taping set for Cleveland on August 28, that most would expect to have been the live SmackDown show, will instead be another double taping, with the August 31 episode of Raw and the September 4 episode of SmackDown both being taped that night and released at their regular times on each respective night.

WWE will return to it’s live schedule with the September 7 WWE Raw taping in Birmingham, Alabama, which starts a busy week for the company as it heads to Mexico City for SmackDown on September 11, as well as the first night of TripleMania in Las Vegas taking place after SmackDown, the second night of TripleMania on September 13 in Mexico City, and the following night’s WWE Raw show also in Mexico City, featuring Roman Reigns’ World Heavyweight Championship defence.

Live events in Guadalajara and Monterrey are also set to take place prior to the SmackDown show in Mexico City.
