After beating Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, Cody Rhodes has revealed his plans to have a rematch with Roman Reigns.
Cody opened up about his SummerSlam experience in a chat with Sports Illustrated, wherein it was shared that Rhodes stayed for the duration of the event.
Not only to attend the post-show press conference, but also to check out the main event Tribal Combat match between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso.
Cody Rhodes believes the man who will dethrone Roman Reigns is Cody Rhodes.
While he still ultimately believes it will be him that dethrones Roman Reigns first, he needs to find his way back to WrestleMania.
Cody said:
“I know what I want, I know what I’m working to attain. I had other challenges before. People didn’t think I’d survive Stardust, or that a non-WWE show could sell 10,000 tickets.
“There have been plenty of times when people bet against me. Getting back, this is the biggest obstacle yet.
“That’s my goal: get back. And that’s what I’m fighting to do.”
After Rhodes beat Lesnar at SummerSlam, Lesnar – in an unscripted moment – shook the American Nightmare’s hand and congratulated him in the ring.
