A WWE NXT star has revealed that they sustained an injury in a recent match and will be out of action for a short time.
JD McDonagh was attacked by a returning Ilja Dragunov on the February 7 episode of WWE NXT.
During the encounter, McDonagh sustained an injury to his eye which has been diagnosed as a detached retina.
McDonagh shared the photo on his social media confirming that he would be out of action for between 10 and 14 days to recover.
He also reminded Dragunov that he still has his sights set on the returning WWE star.
.@WWENXT fans attending Live Events in Tampa/Citrus Springs this weekend – Unfortunately, after a sneak attack on Tuesday, I've got a detached retina in my right eye.
Waiting on a treatment plan, but I estimate a 10-14 day recovery time.

Shawn Michaels had recently addressed the absence of Dragunov and Meiko Satomura from WWE television.
Michaels has explained that visa issues and availability had been the root cause of the delays, citing the “big career move” of leaving one country to live in another as an additional contributing factor.
He would also reveal that WWE are waiting on “a long-term commitment from some people.”
WrestleTalk wishes McDonagh well as he recovers from his injury.
