At the recent WWE Sunday Stunner at Don Haskins Center, Texas, Kevin Owens apologised to the state and punished himself as a result.
In the run up to his eventual match with Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38 last year, Kevin Owens was less than complimentary about Texas and has since reflected upon his words.
In a video from the Sunday evening house show shared on YouTube that can be seen below this news story, Cody Rhodes helpfully sets up a table asking the crowd what they should do with the table.
It was quickly established that Byron Saxton wanted nothing to do with the table.
Eventually, Owens would take the microphone and address the crowd, saying (from the 1:52 mark):
“Last year before WrestleMania, I spent quite a bit of time saying certain things about Texas and the people who live in Texas.
“Of course, it was all in an attempt to lure Stone Cold Steve Austin into the ring for one more match, which I succeeded at, so you should all be thanking me, by they way.”

Owens then announced that he wanted to make it up to fans and people of Texas, putting himself through the table.
His sacrifice would get a “holy s**t” and “thank you, Kevin” chant.
