‘F Yeah’ – LA Knight’s Reaction To Scrapped WWE Plans WWE

LA Knight has revealed his reaction to the moment his Max Dupri character was dropped during an ‘administrative change’ in WWE.

Knight returned to WWE in February 2021 performing in NXT before being called up to the main roster in early 2022.

In April of that year, he would be re-introduced as the manager of Maximum Male Models (Mace & Mansoor) before undergoing a name change in May on WWE SmackDown.

This would be the start of the Max Dupri character that would continue until October 2022, after which he would go back to being LA Knight.

Knight recently shared this thoughts on ditching the Dupri character with Metro, saying:

“My reaction was F Yeah, immediately. Let’s make that happen. Because I don’t know who or what the hell Max Dupri is!

“Now, look, given the time, could I have done that? Could I have made it work? I’m sure I could have.

“Would it have ever been anything like we’re doing right now? No. Because at the end of the day, that wasn’t me. It wasn’t for me.”

The change coincided with a turbulent time in WWE in which Triple H assumed more creative power in the company.

Commenting on the time frame, Knight went on to say:

“‘You know, I don’t know all the details.

“But I think there were some administrative changes somewhere or other, I don’t know exactly what happened.

“Some things happened. People got moved around and things happen, you know?”

The interview notes that Knight re-iterated that he could have made Dupri work, but being a truer version of himself is far more captivating adding:

“But what’s better, that or me just being, basically, authentic me as much as I can be? And that, I think is really what’s connected in the last seven months.”

Triple H has recently reflected on LA Knight’s first run in the NXT system and how he’s turned himself into a “big deal.”

On the latest episode of SmackDown, Knight saved Randy Orton from an attack by the Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso.
