One WWE star has revealed what it is actually like to unhook the Money in the Bank briefcase and in a word, it is terrifying.
While words like triumphant or victorious might come to mind to describe how one might assume the winner of the WWE Money in the Bank ladder match might feel in that moment, according to one past winner, the moment is more terrifying than fans can tell.
Taking to Twitter to describe a fun anecdote as a winner, Baron Corbin described some intimate knowledge that only a select number of stars have had the opportunity to experience: what it actually takes to unhook that Money in the Bank briefcase while standing on top of the ladder!
Corbin wrote on Twitter:
“Watching in college I always wondered why it took so long for guys to unhook the case.
“Then I had to do it! In a ring on a giant ladder that’s moving! Bodies flying everywhere! The chain makes you sway and I’m not supposed to be that high. It’s terrifying!
“That’s why!”
Accompanying the sentiments was a video clip of his 2017 victory in the Money in the Bank ladder match, where he secured the briefcase and a future cash-in opportunity.
Unfortunately for Corbin, a few months later in August 2017 he would fail in his cash in attempt on an episode of WWE SmackDown where he would fail to best Jinder Mahal after a distraction from John Cena.
The premium live event, WWE Money in the Bank and the two titular matches are set for Saturday, July 1, 2023 from London, England.
The participants for the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match at present are Bayley, Becky Lynch, IYO SKY, Zelina Vega, Zoey Stark and to be determined on this week’s Monday Night Raw (June 19) Raquel Rodriguez or Trish Stratus after the pair face off in a qualifier.
The participants confirmed for the Men’s edition of the Money in the Bank ladder match are currently: Butch, Damian Priest, LA Knight, Ricochet, Santos Escobar and Shinsuke Nakamura.
