Major WWE name and former AEW star William Regal has recalled their match with AEW star Claudio Castagnoli.
In December 2022, William Regal ended his brief stint with All Elite Wrestling as part of the Blackpool Combat Club.
The B.C.C. group held a lot of meaning to Regal thanks to his connection with each member. Regal served as a mentor to both Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley, while he had his final pro wrestling match against Claudio Castagnoli.
On Tuesday, William Regal took to social media to note that November 21, 2023 marked the ten anniversary of his retirement bout with Castagnoli and shared praise for his opponent. He wrote:
“It’s 10 years today since my final bout against @ClaudioCSRO. I couldn’t of gone out with a better bout against someone I rated extremely highly and cared for.”
“Thank you very much indeed to everyone who made that 30 years run in the ring and charmed life possible. x.”
Regal returned to WWE in a backstage role as Vice President of Global Talent Development in January 2023.
