WWE Star Namedropped On AEW Collision Amid WWE Departure Rumors

WWE Star Namedropped On AEW Collision Amid WWE Departure Rumors AEW/WWE

Amid speculation that current WWE star Edge could soon make the jump to All Elite Wrestling upon the expiry of his WWE deal, an AEW name has now further fuelled these rumors by name-dropping the Rated R Superstar on this week’s Collision episode (August 19).

The Edge-mention came during this week’s Collision main event between Christian Cage and TNT Championship number one contender Darby Allin.

As has become a regular occurrence in recent weeks on Collision, the legendary JR Jim Ross took to the booth for the nights final bout.

During Christian’s entrance, JR made a call-back to his time as WWE’s Head of Talent Relations in the late nineties, specifically his role in hiring Christian to WWE as well as his best friend Edge at the same time.

You can listen to Jim Ross’ comments in the video clip below.

Edge would debut on WWE TV in the summer of 1998, with Christian later joining up with him later that year, forming The Brood alongside Gangrel.

After 25 years in WWE, Edge has possibly wrestled his last WWE match, with his bout against Sheamus on Friday’s edition of SmackDown being the final match of his current WWE contract.

While it’s unclear whether this will in fact be Edge’s final contribution to WWE and wrestling as a whole, it was revealed that his contract does come to an end in late September, meaning a hypothetical move to AEW will be at least over a month away.

Despite this however, there is reportedly real belief within Tony Khan’s company that Edge could eventually become All Elite when he is available, to read more on this follow this link here.
