WWE NXT Star Wants In On ‘Historic’ WrestleMania 40 Match

The Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship will be on the line at WrestleMania 40 in a 6-Pack Tag Team Ladder Match.

Announced by Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis, the match will feature teams from both WWE Raw and SmackDown based on a series of qualifying matches.

WWE NXT star Baron Corbin has thrown his tag team with Bron Breakker into the mix for consideration, tweeting:

“Wolfdogs?”

In January 2024, Corbin wasn’t overly enthused by the name of the “Wolfdogs”, as can be seen below this news story.

Corbin and Breakker won the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic at NXT Vengeance Day in February 2024, and then went on to win the NXT Tag Team Championship.

It had previously been reported that there had been “discussions” about the pair bringing the team to the main roster, but so far, Breakker has featured on SmackDown without Corbin.

So far, three qualifying matches have been announced for the WWE Raw roster with #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) taking on The Creed Brothers (Brutus & Julius), New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston) taking on Alpha Academy (Otis & Akira Tozawa), and The Awesome Truth (Miz & R-Truth) taking on Indus Sher (Veer Mahan & Sanga).

#DIY’s Johnny Gargano has reacted to their qualifying match on next week’s WWE Raw, looking forward to fulfilling a “lifelong dream” at WrestleMania 40 on April 6 & 7.

On the March 11 WWE Raw, another WrestleMania 40 match was set with Gunther’s opponent being named as Sami Zayn.

Zayn won the gauntlet match to secure his spot in the match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at the April 6 & 7 PLE..
