What Happened When Trick Williams Confronted Carmelo Hayes About Backstage Attack On NXT WWE

Find out what happened when Trick Williams confronted Carmelo Hayes about suffering a backstage attack on WWE NXT.

There was another development in the on-going saga between Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes on tonight’s November 7 edition of WWE NXT.

While showrunner Shawn Michaels has outright replicated moments from his career’s history in the past (see: Jacy Jayne throwing Gigi Dolin through a window in their tag team breakup), one that has come around again is a famous angle between himself and Triple H.

With Shawn Michaels having been victim of an attack by an unknown assailant who was later revealed to be his best friend Triple H, when Trick Williams suffered a backstage attack, fingers pointed at Melo.

Not only did he seemingly have the opportunity, Melo had the motive as Trick had been recently added to a match to determine who would get the next title shot at NXT champ Ilja Dragunov.

While Melo would go on to win the number one contender’s match, during the actual title bout last week he was stunned to see a returning Trick Williams.

Seeming to throw off Carmelo Hayes, the appearance of Williams went without answers until this week when the pair came face-to-face in the ring.

On tonight’s NXT, Trick Williams confirmed to a shocked Carmelo Hayes that he still didn’t know who attacked him.

While the pair were attempting to discuss their friendship, they were interrupted by Lexis King (formerly Brian Pillman Jr) who joined their in-ring discussion.

Teasing himself as the possible attacker (or another ruthless newcomer), eventually Williams grew tired of King and threw a punch, however King ducked.

As King zipped out of the ring, Williams instead landed a shot to the jaw of Carmelo Hayes who went down.

The episode ended on Carmelo Hayes eventually accepting help up from Trick Williams and allowing him to pull him into an embrace.

Interestingly though, the camera never showed Trick’s face whereas the expression on Carmelo Hayes’ was intriguing, as you can see for yourself below.

We’ll continue to keep you updated as the storyline unfolds as to who attacked Trick Williams backstage and whether or not Carmelo Hayes had anything to do with it.
