WWE Open Challenge Set For WrestleMania Backlash Pre-Show

A WWE championship open challenge will reportedly take place tonight on the pre-show of WrestleMania Backlash.

Sheamus recently declared himself the “GREATEST US Champion”. He will have the chance to prove himself tonight in a spontaneous title match.

PWInsider are reporting that Sheamus will put his US Championship on the line in an open challenge during the Kickoff show. This will be his first official defence of the title.

Sheamus defeated Matt Riddle to win the title at WrestleMania Backlash. Since then, he ended Mansoor’s 49-0 win streak (by disqualification).

Tonight’s show features a huge Universal Championship clash between Roman Reigns and Cesaro. Bobby Lashley will also defend his WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman.

Rhea Ripley will also defend her Raw Women’s Championship in a three-way bout. Ripley faces Asuka and Charlotte Flair with her title on the line.
